Aeration is great for the lawn any time.
Mowing-Regular mowing at
a height of 2 to 3 inches and mulching if possible
is best for your lawn at this point. If
you mulch during growing season you will want
to mow every 4 days. This will help with
conserve water and help prevent stress related
funguses. If you need more information, you can
call our office for a mowing fact sheet.
Watering- If it does not rain frequently and substantially, you need to water! We notice dry lawns all season long. Sprinklers should always be turned on by May 1st or early if the weather is dry and/or warm for a long period of time early. Do mistake rain as a substitute for watering. A general suggestion is to start watering 2-3 times a week. Once temperatures get to 65 to 70 degrees increase to 3-4 times a week, 70 to 80 degrees increase to 4-6 times a week and over 80 for any consistent period of time and especially with wind 5-7 times a week. Some lawns will even need daily or multiple times a day watering. For more specific watering instructions for your soil type and area give us a call or email us and we would be happy to send you out a Watering Fact Sheet.
Be sure you know what your part of a beautiful lawn is and be sure you are doing it!
AERATION VS. POWER RAKING: We highly recommend aerating your lawn on a yearly or bi-yearly basis. (see notes under Aeration in Additional Services). Power raking should only be done very early or late in the season, otherwise it can be too stressful and damaging to the turf. Aeration is also important in helping fight moss and certain lawn diseases and fungus. If you power rake, always do so before the end of March. Power raking late stresses turf. Fall is a great time to aerate as well. Call us to get on the schedule. We also offer Organic De-Thatch to solve your thatch problems. (see notes under Organic De-thatch in Additional Services).

Watering:
Trees, shrubs and other planted material compete
with the lawn and each other for water.
Be sure to deep water trees and shrubs at least
2 to 3 times a month. They will let you
know if they are not receiving enough water from
either sprinkling or rain fall. In
the summer and fall months you should hose down
shrubs with high pressure water to help prevent
spider mite damage.
Spiders! Spiders! and more Spiders!
Spiders have been exceptionally bad the past two

a single family residence! Outlying areas
cost $64.95 or $219.80 for the full program. Call
