 A Letter from our Owner
Dear Friends
and Customers,
Season 2011
 It
is hard to believe but 20 years ago this May,
Living Water Lawn and Tree Care began. Funny it
started with me trying to help a relative make
child support payments. I told him I would get
us some lawn jobs and we could split the proceeds.
He lost interest but I began to get the distinct
feeling I was supposed to make this full time.
Often I worked with my wife Lisa after work and
on weekends that first year every day straight
until weeks turned into months. We both had 40
hour jobs but we often worked till dark every
night and all day Saturday and Sunday. We did
manage to squeeze church in on Sunday but then
off I went to mow or prune or landscape. It was
crazy and if anything the next 3 years were even
more intense. God indeed blessed the work of our
hands. I believe I could have trusted Him more
and worked a little less but He was so kind and
patient with me, a passionate and driven young
man. He also gave me such a great partner in Lisa.
The day we were married the pastor told me "she
makes you rich" and boy was he right. Even
when all we had for dinner was Mac and Cheese,
sitting around the table with the kids and each
other; she has made me the richest man in town.
Living Water started with Jesus, Mike and Lisa
and over the years the team has grown some.
I have made so many mistakes. I have been exhausted
and discouraged many times over the years but
God got me through and taught me much along the
way. Lisa's love and wisdom made home and family
my safe place. She always pointed me towards Jesus
when I got too full of myself. We have met and
served thousands of amazing, lovely and inspiring
people. They have shared so much with us. I have
learned more about life on the back steps of customer's
homes than any college class. Wisdom was shared
by Harry Hanson, Ruth Lutz, Joe Ambrosi, Don Silver,
Malcolm and Francis Macdonald, Joanne Roberts
and countless others. Some of them are with the
Lord now but I am so much wiser because they shared
their lives and experiences with Mike the lawn
guy. The Inland Northwest has been so good to
us. Today we are beyond grateful…words just
aren't adequate for the grace of God, the love
of our family and the amazing neighbors who have
allowed us to serve them. Today our employees
carry on the "love story" of a company
and a community. We have men and women who are
of such quality and who are so committed to seeing
Living Water stand for the values we began with;
treat people with professionalism, kindness and
respect. And to make a difference in our community,
give back to neighbors who make it possible for
us to care for our own families. Who could have
imagined 20 years ago when I started chasing a
lawn mower trying to help a relative that all
this would have happened…only God…isn't
He amazing!
